Changdeokgung Palace

This is the main and biggest palace of all the palaces! It was used doing the Joseon dynasty.
**The first clip is from Deoksugung Palace and the rest is from Changdeokgung Palace.

Amanda and I bought tickets for about 8 dollars for a guided trip to both the palace and the secret garden behind it (Secret garden in next post). Luckily I didn't have to constantly translate because there was a English speaking tour.
We got very carried away with taking pictures. (especially me :P)
Short gateways so the officials bow when they go through to show respect and humblness

Tiles had a spider like design that looks like the Chinese character spider which stands for happiness

Since Confucius was very influential in Korea in the Joseun Dynasty, males and females were not allowed to be in the same room after the age of 7. So the king and the queen's chambers were separated but not really. There was a walkway that connected their buildings. xD

Korea used special heating called "ondo" which was lighting a fire next to the house and allowing the warm air to travel through the building's floor and then out the chimney.
