Warrior Lee Sunshin
creator of the turtle dragon fighting boat

King Sejeong
Creator of the Korean language

We went to learn more about King Sejeong at a museum under the statue:
This is what the original Korean language looked like (Chinese characters are mixed in this one).
King Sejeong was concerned that the commoners could not read and write (since they used Chinese characters). So he made a language that would be easy enough for the commoners. Most of the nobles resisted the creation of a new language, afraid of offending China or closing the gap between the social classes (since only nobles had the time to learn Chinese characters and writing). In the end, the king won and a new language was formed for Korea.
On the king's throne~ I BE THE KING!

Leejoo spelled her name xD     ~> 이주
